While I don't agree with the 1Iron single length shaft concept (I did check out that theory about 25 years ago) I have heard nothing but good things about 1Iron's customer service and return policy so I would definitely not put them in the flim flam category at all.
quote:You posted on the 1 Iron Golf forum your impressions of the 1 Irons on the same day that you received them. Then, less than one week later you posted that you had returned the 1 Irons for a refund.
I had the clubs almost a month before I sent them back, and that is a fact!
As far as pitching the clubs as one size optimally fits all, that is flim flam, sorry, but that is absolutely true, no matter how much you like the clubs!
I just asked Tom Wishon about single length irons and he provided me with a detailed reply. Like someone else posted here he suggested a 1/4 inch between clubs as an option since it will give the player a slightly different feel on each club and will allow regulation heads with differing weights to be used. Single length iron heads all have the same weight. Seems like a good suggestion.
You have to remember that Tom Wishon sells standard clubheads that require incremental club lengths so he is definitely not going to recommend single length clubheads. By doing so he would be admitting that his clubhead designs are wrong. The same is true with Ralph Maltby and all of the others.
I've been playing with the 1 Irons from www.1irongolf.com for the past two years and my scores drop every month. I'm in the single digit handicap club now and I could'nt have done it without my 1 Irons.
info only as I just ordered simple swing, Simmons " Tiger shark " use to tout his clubs had increments of 1/4". However the set I have " hammerheads " have normal 1/2" spacing. Richard
