I was thrilled today. It was a beautiful day in central Ohio and it was actually warm again, and the ground was fairly dry. I played 18 this afternoon at a course that I had never played before and shot a 77. It was my 2nd sub-80 round of my life, and also my 2nd one this year! Although the previous one was a better score, this one was more unexpected because I haven't played nor practiced much lately. I hit 13/14 fairways, 11/18 GIR, and generally felt in control all day. Had they not recently aerated the greens and covered them with sand I could have shot better. You just can't pitch and putt on a lumpy, sandy surface!
The keys today were: 1) a very conservative approach to each hole, 2) be extra careful to get into good posture for every shot, and 3) make sure that I actually see the club face drive through the ball at impact, which ensures I eliminate unnecessary body motion. The plan worked to near perfection and the result was on the scorecard. I can't wait until next spring/summer when I can get back into regular play again!

Hi JC
Excellent stuff, hoping to break 80 myself soon.
Not playing my best at the moment, but I'm trying to improve a few things and think its a case of 1 step back and 2 forward.
Good luck
J
