IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE TO SEEING THE LINE/PUTTING THE LINE ON LEFT TO RIGHT PUTTS USING THE SYMPLE PUTTER VERSUS STANDARD SETUP STANCE PUTTING?. I AM RIGHT EYE DOMINANT AND NEVER WAS GREAT LEFT TO RIGHT BUT SEEM TO STRUGGLE A BIT. ANY THOUGHTS OR TIPS?

Hi chucky,

With the Symple Putter since the ball actually goes where you aim it the aiming is key factor. YOUR AIMING (choosing your target line) SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE YOU ADDRESS THE BALL.

You should pick your target line and then line up the "aiming line on your ball" to that target line so that you will in fact just be hitting a straight putt every time. (Note: You should walk around and view the putt from at least two directions before you choose your target line.) You are putting a aiming line on your ball aren't you? See http://www.sympleputter.com/line-up-your-putt.html

Eye dominance shouldn't make any difference because you just have to look that the ball at address. Just make a good stroke on the line that you've already squared up to.

The left or right slope shouldn't make any difference (except for speed, etc.). As we've said you should be reading the putt and picking the line long and then lining up your ball to your target line long before you take your stance and address the ball.

Every putt when you hit it is a straight putt. Yes, with conventional putting you can try to hit "cut" putts or even hooks putts or hit off the toe to deaden the putt but unless you're a low single digit who practices a lot those are things you should NOT try whether conventional or Symple Putting.

So the bottom line is that you should seeing the putt and picking your line, long before you get in your stance. You should only need to glance up at the hole to help in judging distance.

With Symple Putting your goals for every putt are:
1. To square the line on your putter and the aiming line on your ball up to your target line (that you've chosen before you take your stance)
2. Then put a smooth stroke on the ball for the appropriate distance.
That's it just 1 & 2 each time whether the putt is straight or a big breaker. Square and smooth is all you have to remember for every putt.

I hope this answers your question. If it doesn't please feel free to ask again.

thanks joe, i can see i was somewhat getting away from the basics somewhat and will review the dvd again once i get it out of my broken player. eject button is not functioning and it has been stuck there for a few weeks and waiting for the kids to come over and use their younger brains to get it out for me. i know i am putting much better but my handicap is not changing. .1 out, .3 down,.1 out and it just hovers around the same and i am knocking it real close with the putts and sometimes in but my pich or chip wasnt good enough to allow for one puttand 90 percent of the practice time is for putting. i am used to the putter now and really am in love with it. i cant sell any for you because the rest of my game is pretty crappy so when my mates review my scores. it is hard to convince them how good the putter is when see see 87 grross nett 72.
they dont understand without it would be 91 gross 76 nett. what practice time i do get i had better sp[lit it up a bit better.
