What happened? On the course today, I took a practice swing and launched my three wood. Too loose a grip. The club traveled at about a 45 degree angle from horizontal and about 45 degrees left of my target line. The question is, can anything be surmised from this? would this be a normal path for the club to travel? (I'm not interested in adding this to my practice routine.) El
Your swing travels in a tilted arc so where the club would go depends very much on when in the swing you "lost contact" with the club. If you lost it at a certain point in your swing near impact the club would travel straight down the target line however if you lost contact a little further along in your swing the club might travel 45 degrees left of the target line.
If sounds like you lost contact your club as your swing arc was coming back to the inside and starting to come up on the follow through. The trajectory you describe would be quite normal then.
