I was reviewing the dvd, and noticed that your arm position for chipping is not single axis, but hanging as if you were putting. Yet in the video you also recommend that the left wrist should be flat. This confuses me, but in my own chipping, I have a consistent tendency to have the ball strike the club face toward the toe, which suggests to me that I want to bring my arms in on the down swing. Do you have any recommendations?

Judge by your result.
if your able to be consistent that be good enough.
The arms is the driving force for me, so if I involve hands/wrists, inconsistency appears.
Its like trowing a waterbucket downwards with the force of shoulders/arms.
With a light grip as this promots solid contact.
From 11hcp to tourpro level 2009?
Got it how to swing Symple. Same swing with superb puttning. Low 70 scores here I come! |

Which arm are you referring to, the lead arm or the trailing arm?

To my eye, in the video, it appears that both of your arms are hanging naturally, as in a more conventional golf swing.

Hi 6 Iron,
Your hands should not be low as in a conventional swing.
Your front arm should be directly inline with your club shaft. Our goal here is basically to set up as close as possible to your impact position. Then you just have to "turn and turn back" to make your swing.
Obviously the position of the hands will vary with with the specific club used. Your position with a wedge should look closer to conventional than your position with a driver because of the normal differences in lie angle with those clubs.
One all clubs the shaft should be inline with the front arm (butt of the club pointing towards the front armpit).
