I have watched the Chipping video many times and am not clear on the motion of the shoulders. Do the shoulders move more like a pendulum (or a seesaw) moving the arms back and forth straight in line with the target or do they move in an arc with the front shoulder rotating away from the target?
So, to make sure I understand, on a chipshot, the clubhead will swing inwards, even if only a fraction of an inch on a short shot, from the line perpendicular to the target?
Picture yourself standing in one of those big white circular swing trainers.
At address the club is perpendicular to the white ring. (The white ring indicates the swing plane) As you take the club back the club head stays perpendicular to the white ring (swing plane) but because the white ring is tilted the club is coming back in an arc to the inside.
So the club head stays perpendicular to the white ring but as it comes back it definitely comes inside MORE THAN A FRACTION OF AN INCH.
Again please feel free to keep asking questions because that's how you'll learn (and a bunch of reader will to).
