On May 6 I lamented in another post that I needed a "Simple Brain" to help with my putting woes. I had just had a 42 putt round followed by 22 putts on a 9 hole round. Those were typical putting days for me. I have stated several times that if I could just get the putting under control my scores would plummet.
Well......now that I've got a Simple Putter and I've figured out how to use it, my putting demon has been exorcised and my putting has become a strength. * Two weeks ago I had 14 putts for 9 holes and shot a 34. * One week ago I had 17 putts for 9 holes and shot a 38. * Today I had 12 putts for 9 holes and shot a 35!
I made putts from 22' and 20', and then buried an 8' par putt on the 9th hole to close out the 35 today. On the one hand, I'm thrilled. On the other, I felt like I had a "bad" day because I missed a 5' and an 8' putt. Had I holed those I would have had 10 putts! Oh that every "bad" putting day would result in 12 putts!

Jeff WOW!! welcome to the congregation, another convert but man o man how good are you scoring and putting! congrats!! Don't you love the accuracy of SP, question, I ask this of myself and all students - "what % of putts missed are due to bad stroke or bad read?? you missed those 2 gimmee's, lol, from 5 and 8'/ misread or bad stroke? misread fire your caddy bad stroke - why? what caused it ? right hand, did you finish perfectly down the line with club face 0 degrees? i love it played today for first time in 5 weeks, did a putting video yesterday and had opportunity to play so got out early/ +4 for 76 9/18 fairways 4/18 gir's// lol struggled with approach shots all day / but had 5 sand saves!! from tough bunkers, sank putts from 3 to 30' to save pars 29 putts/ loved it and misread 2 makeable's from 20' and had one 'bad stroke' that right hand rolled face and missed left on a 12 footer
makes golf so much better when you have the confidence that putter is 'best club' in bag or you know that you have a chance to make 'EVERY' Putt.
keep updates coming love to hear take care Mike O |

Mike, the two missed putts were as follows: - I missed a 5' uphill putt when I left it 1" short. Before I hit the ball I said to myself "drive it through the hole", and what do I do? Leave it short! - I missed an 8' putt that I thought would break about 2" more than it did. I had good speed and good stroke, just a bit of a misread.
Congrats on your round. The day I hit 4 GIR and still shoot 76 I'll be in heaven!
