Hi Guys Anybody got some input on club fitting I am new to SPS and am wondering what the effect of having clubs fitted will do Thinking particularly about lie angle I now realise how important it is to sole the club properly or you change the effective face angle. I have relatively long arms - my knuckles don't exactly scrape the floor as I walk but any clothes I buy always have to have longer than normal sleeves. One problem I have always had is to often hit the ball out of the hosel - thought it was a slice until I found out that there were lots of markings around the hosel. I realise that as I swing for real the club travels on a wider arc than in practice. Have now compensated for this by addressing the ball well inside then reaching out for it Now hit quite solid although I may look like I am stretching for it a bit Any advice would be greatly apreciated
The lie angle needed is the same (standard) as for any other swing.
The swing plane is defined by three points (the ball, your left shoulder joint, and the target.) The swing plane therefore is the same for all swings UNLESS the other swings have a radically different stance that raises or lowers the front shoulder at impact. (I haven't seen any)
When I was a Natural Golf certified instructor I asked everyone I could find at NG headquarters why they recommended a more upright club. No one could give me a straight technical answer. They all started sputtering nonsensical marketing babble. Yes Natural Golfers stand very high at address but that doesn't have any real effect on their impact position. If you look at a Symple Swinger, a conventional swinger, and a Natural Golfer at impact their positions are pretty much identical except for minor grip variations and stance width.
So if you were properly fitted for your clubs they'll work great with Symple Swing. We are allied with Accuswing http://www.AccuSwing.com Harry Lundberg our master clubfitter has a wealth of experience fitting PGA,LPGA and SPGA tour player. We have a free clubfitting form over there at http://www.accuswing.com/Custom_Fitting.htmlyou might find helpful.
When you set up, sole your club properly and then set-up at address to match the lie angle of your club.
When we set-up we try to set up just as we will be at impact. We don't want to raise the hands artificially high or down low like a conventional golf because then we'd have to readjust our body position during the downswing. See Mike at address and impact:
