I have been working on setting up to the ball so that I contact the ball on the sweetspot on the club face, but I have a tendency of hitting the ball closer to the toe of club face. Any suggestions on to correct this problem.
jay good q/ hard to answer without seeing swing/best bet - analyze these 2 potential problems 1- describe your address posture/ how far away from the ball are you?? look in a mirror and are you 'reaching' out to set up? Get as close to the ball with upright posture as possible making left arm extension of club shaft - if club is soled to the ground and could stand by itself it almost feels like I walk into club to set my feet with upright posture/ review basic video, review short game dvd, almost all dvd's review address position. 2- your swing is causing toe hit/ swing plane is either cutting across ball hitting on club face or coming from inside out and getting back too ball. which is it, only you can tell me? try reducing right hand power/ quadruple overlap or put your right hand completely on top of left which takes the right hand out of backswing and for sure out of downswing pushing and for sure pulling to left on impact. Most important also, where are you finishing? above left ear or over by left shoulder? do the whoosh drill and feel how club finishes up high above left ear and make your swings have that perfect on plane finish. please let me know if any helps call me to get into and find answers/ we can do video call also take care mike
