For the spring,
wedge practice, setting 9 distances with wedges.
That be done in maj 7-9 with a friend.
Main goal to be able to hit any wedge proerly distance wise.
(up and down into pro level) (using Dave Pelz idea here)

Working on as I can are 25 yard shots in the backyard.
Distance carry.

Ordered the DVD´s all of them, take a week or two to get here tho.
woohoo.

Basically working to establish with the swing when the range opens,
1. tempo.
2. state manangement based on tempo (rythm)
3. Distance. (300 yard or so is the outcome)

Putting, using my own putter but will be using the SS putting idea.

Using checkpoints with the set up and swing, will videofilm and send for review when I can.

Physical training, crossfit as much as I can.
Mentally working with long term goal and incorperating optimal performance.
Changed eating habits to a more fat/protein (GI) style.

That sounds great, Flopper!

Good to hear you're feeling better and I'm really looking forward to hearing about your progress and hopefully getting a look at your swing.

Chuck worked with my setup and alignment at the clinic, which helped with my playing, and your suggestion to have a look at my tempo has led to some good practice. Found some speed by increasing my tempo from 24/8 to 21/7 using the Tourtempo audio and checking it with the radar. I will speed train at faster tempo instead of just gripping and ripping and see how it goes.

I'm with you all the way on the diet and exercise as well, I'm getting to old not to work at it a bit. Sure hope to join you out there around 300 yards, that would be a lot of fun!

Best,
Kurt

Great that you got some use of the tempo.

I ahd my first range session today.
Great sunny with some windy conditions tho.

Worked on finding positions, rytm and tempo.
I had a good session.
First time that my hands (fingers) didnt hurt when swinging, had some deathgrip I guess last season.
2 hours went by fast and 200 balls later I was pleased and happy.
Directions was great, tempo become better and better but speed is lacking a little not worrying about that tho since I got enough length as it is from my tee atm.
Used the swooshed drill with left hand/arm.

My experience with left arm pararell to targetline was new, I had taken it way inside last year.
That and hitting into left side started out well and got better and better.

It was a lot to cordinate the first time full swing, however I had a great session and improved the bits I was out for practice.

2 hour range session.
At least I started to feel the core powered left side compact swing.
It took time to get there but hit shots that I havent felt before.
Next time I will videotape so I get some outline if I am on the right track.

Still working on finding the proper movements and as far i can tell, its seems to be on the right track.
It feels as the chipping motion and comes as one motion for all clubs.
But a lot of work to go to get there stable tho.

Worked on stance and grip in chipping, found that pressing with the two right fingers on the left hand allowed a passive right hand/arm and also the proper angle to be made. Made a sensation of solid hands in a package.
Took a wider stance and finnaly sensed the lock and stock position.
Will travel to range when weather and time permits to test this out full swing.

Short game progress well, I am getting the shorter shots into a comfertable range with the swing motion I got to the distance required.

Spent 3 hours on the range.
Huge frustration, I found out I never knew how to do the motion/move for a golfshot. Spent 2 hours finding what it should feel like.
At the end I started to get a better release (using the swoosh drill) even though it was not near a synced movement and a proper core turn.

I hit chip shots great, short wedges great, but have no core turn on longer shots and lack power/distance big time.
Worked on release tonight which explain the shoulder left turn pulling.
Going to my sis tomorow to work full wedge shots with the proper release on her backyard.
Release and being on plane is to be worked on after checking video.

Thi is hard work to find out how to do it when you havent done it right ever ;)

Lightbulb moment, finnaly after 2 days of frustration.
Now I know the shoulder power swing movement.
I got it.

Swinging became easy, and now the next phase takes place to improve on the basic motion.
I finnaly know how.

Another 3 hour on the range.
Straight shots.
Not the distance I want however.
Looking at video, the on plane starts to get there, adjusted and all shots more on plane now.

However, the wristcock is way off, no wonder the distance is off.
back to practice that at home and then do swoosh drill and swing two clubs. Gonna start pre-cock to get it down.

I also started to find the turn of hinge at left hip and also the bodymoves first and arm/hands follow.
I might soon get the motion down ;)
There is hope.

One good thing by working out the details of the swing, I get pretty good knowing what I am doing.
Found out I was swaying/sliding in the backswing.
Turning on the hip felt much different, and I got why the arc of the swing will be the same, and turning like this allow for a much more effective turn heh.
Darn, I done it so flawed no wonder the distance was off.

Spent 5 hours at my sister doing wedges.
Then when I got home, then the lightbulb appears.
Well, new rangesession tomorow however

If I am on track this will be a really good session.

Finaly, with the aid of the DVD´s I now know what to do, frustration gone, groowing the swing, distance about the same but with less effort and accuracy went way up.
I hit a drive down the fairway spike on.

Later this week I hope to go out and play a few courses as I am going to visit a friend, practice the shortgame is the goal there.
Numbers is what I need to have down for my wedges.

The Feeling of Greatness is drawing closer

3 hour of wedge practice.
Measure all wedges 07.30 and 09.00.

Helped my buddy to hit the ball better also.

Then the range after some coffe and sandwiches,
worked on left hand whipping, head stand behind ball, and I start to get the swing down better and better.
Had a few shots that was poetry in motion, so the practice are going forward and tomorow, I be playing on the course in Gavle.
Its in good shape so it be a treat. wooo hooo

Just need to practice the putting but I work it out while I play in worst case

Ok first round played.
85.
7 pars and 1 birdie.
50% up and downs.
3 green hits.
7 fairways.
29 putts.

Feedback:
1. Putting, awesome.
29 putts with little to no training, oh boy.
I am a good putter normally, I even putt better than pro´s from time to time, just dont practice as much tho.
With symple putting, I am so good, I am so pumped with the putting.

2. Short game.

Good however, the pitching needs adjustment with distance, which I done on the range. Chipping, flawless except one bad chipp that lost me 3 strokes.

3. Long game.

Short little power, noticing the swing was not properly ingrained, adjusted on course, had some truly nice shots and when I did it good it was straight and worked well.

Range session in the evening, checked on video, lack of on plane in backswing, that be todays practise.
Worked on follow trough and power thumb, gained a few mph.
Today however its being on plane that needs to be done.

Ordered the dvd on owning the swing
I am such a sucker
However, the dvd´s made my game better so what can I say

Overall the round confirm the short game is tour level and just need some more practice on distance since the shots was made well and straight.

Swing needs adjustment but that is work in progress.
I will work trough details until I can get the sound and ballflight and mph I want to have.
Its moving along nicely.

Range again.
Going trough details, starts to work with distances.
The swing gets better and better, smaller and smaller and less effort are required and straight shots are more common.

Still need to groove the basics move until its automatic.
Hopefully a playing round tomorow to test out the new practice I done.

Played a round.
Really bad greens tho.
Improved distance calibration, except on chipp shots around green.
That I practice when greens gets open and the ball would roll correctly.
Putting, good even when such bad greens.
1 3putt but that was a hard one to judge.

Long game,
could not transfer the length from last rangesession to play,
was consistent but had a few fat shots and that with two sandshots cost me at least 10 shots.
Overall, very pleased with my game even if the score was not reflecting the game play.
Improved distance control, have a good feel to how far I hit with the current swing.

Practice will be :
1. Improve and groove follow trough.
More still with lower body and head.
2. Chip shots, calculating length of roll when the greens are practiceable.
3. sand shots, a must to practice.

Played maybe the best ever approach to greens,
hit the shots on target so much that I need to adjust my aim.
Par 5, every par 5 played flawless, hit the greens on 2, made 1 birdie 1meter to pin, hit green on another 8m from pin, 3 putt but the green was really bad. Played the last par 5 correct until approach shot which was fat, dropped into bunker and then I played army golf and made a double.
Chipped over green on one par 5, chipped back and saved par.

However, the game are improving even if the score was off due to a few sandshots and a couple of fat shots.
I feel great coming into the summer and will have a totally different game in just a few weeks time.
Played a little to passive on first nine, adjusted and went for a more offensive, had it going good until I lost 4 shots on the 16 and 18.

Overall, Improving the game.
Swing keeps getting better.
Most shots that did not work are easly adjustable.
Need to work on distance roll on greens when they are good.

Found the reason to my fat shots playing, a posture flaw.
There is a mirror inside the range that I didnt know about so checking that showed a basic alignment error.
I seem to have some love to lean to the right.

Made some shots with new alignment, felt differently which was good, the shots was easier to make much likely due to less timing required to move the body to the proper position.
Going to need to practice with mirror on the range from time to time to make sure I align correctly.

4 hour range session.

Worked on whipping motion, did bend elbow in the backswing, shots started out much better, distance was improved.
Worked on head behind ball over right kneee.

I hit maybe the best shots ever with a fraction of previous power.

Hit my 3w 200 yards carry which I guess is ok at the range.

Worked on pitch shots, 52degree.
Hit high straight shots, worked on head above right knee.

Swing felt good, it felt smooth, sound of hit was improved, ball flight changed, and more power added.

I think I got the swing down now.

Now ingrain and later more power.

Played 9 holes with winter greens, no putting.
With a smooth swing I had better distances than last year.
The shortgame was flawless.
Chips and pitching was on target and I got some really nice ball flights.

Found and identified I guess my flaw with distance, head not staying back properly, which I worked on last rangesession and it has improved.
Did note when I was home that if I do the whipping motion with head back it seems to indicate a great flow and a proper follow trough.

To the range tomorow to work on distance, head back and smooth and good shots.

awesome practice schedule/ I am again envious of you - Good luck with progress/ if there is anything I can do send video or we can do phone lesson even with time difference.
keep at it - mirror work is great from both angles - watch swing and positions so you combine with brain to 'feel' correct or incorrect by visual checking and learning.
see no other problems - if fat shots continue lets get into why and solve.
later

Thx Mike.
Will do if I get into trouble

Range session, went to work on head behind ball and ripping it to the moon.
More power to the swing.

Took 30m before the body started to adjust, found I got a chicken wing, adjusted, better ballhit, straighter shots and more power and better sound of impact.
Had wind blowing into the face and it is cold but improved distance a little and improved overall the motion.

Worked on some chipping and pitching which also improved with elbow more tucked in.
Short game feels really good.

Now it will be 3 days without golf and just relax and do some physical workouts. I get company for a few days. some of my students wants to be updated.
2 weeks to my golf course to open up.

I am on track, need 5-10more meters in distance and its all set.

Rested 3 days.

Spent an hour and a half on range.
Distance as I wanted.
Shots good.
Swing starts to get there.

Need to keep working on head behind ball and swing trough.
Checking the new DVD for practice ideas.

As far, I am pleased.

Checked the new DVD, own your swing and practice playing round part 2.
Grip tension, right hand, obviously I got to much of.
I liked the dvd, it was clear with the grip, good pointing out the grip tension, reinforcing the habits, and the player lesson was fun to watch, he really needs some putting practice
And what was most striking his new found ability to play much better in a short amount of practice.

Going to the range tomorow, gonna work on grip tension, right hand 3 finger overlap I guess and staying behind the ball.
Was out on the course, played 12 holes with wintergreens, no putting.
Hit some really nice shots and drove a 3w 260yards.
That was as long as I did drive my driver last year LOL on that hole.
Not as consistent as I would like, but its getting better.

plans change.
went and played a course that had open greens, cold but I wanted to play a real round of golf.
Now, I changed my grip pressure, light, no right hand and arm.
Felt akward but I decided to go ahead and play anyway.

First round on that course, and the score was high, 96, shot 14 on a par 5, didnt know how much water there was there. And a few bad shots made some lost balls.

Putted ok, some really good putts and some 3 putts due to green missread a little and speed adjustment.

Hit 9 greens. (best nr of the year)
That was positive even when I putted like a noob.

Had some really good shots out there, much more fun and improvement over last few rounds I played.
The swing was not totally comfertable, felt ok most of times but I have some practice to do there.

Overall, the grip pressure change was positive however.
I hit straighter, and on target most of times, when I didnt it was a truly bad shot.

Short game did not go well and I guess to much change at the same time didnt transfer well today.

Next practice,
work on full swing positions.
and power.
Adjusting pitching wedges and chipping for more loft, had a few to much topped chipps.

One week until my home course opens up.

Was to far off when I pitched and approach shots, all short.
needs more adjustment and more offensive when going to the pin.
